Justin Moore, M.S. CMHC,
CYT

Justin is our resident trickster, podcast host, and clinical mental health counselor. He works in a clinical hospital setting as a yoga instructor and as a Program Coordinator/Faculty member at Salem University in West Virginia, in the Psychedelic Studies Department.

He grew up in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia with a family that was passionate about Appalachian history and culture.

After struggling with and losing friends to the opioid epidemic, he began to study the promise of an African plant called Iboga, a revolutionary treatment for opioid addiction. In 2012, his final year at East Tennessee State University, he gave a speech about Iboga for opioid addiction. Here, he began his journey into psychedelic history, drug education, and personal use in legal countries.

Over a decade later, he has worked as a youth mentor in wilderness therapy and as an adjunctive yoga therapist in in-patient psychiatry. He has worked closely with Peruvian shamanic cultures and now dedicates his time to fatherhood, Appalachia, relationships, and psychedelics.
