Our Mission

Confronted with the undeniable momentum behind psychedelics, our mission is to prepare Appalachia by building a robust infrastructure that ensures communities are informed, safe, and supported.
Through education, community, and inclusive dialogue, we are committed to navigating this transformative era and positioning Appalachians as proactive leaders in the responsible integration of psychedelics, regardless of the evolving legal landscape.

The Appalachian Psychedelic Society

is entering a new phase.

What began as a regional dialogue is evolving into a more structured, interdisciplinary effort to strengthen education, public responsibility, sustainability, and justice-informed leadership across Appalachia.

We believe Appalachia deserves thoughtful, grounded, and place-based engagement with emerging psychedelic frameworks rooted in cultural humility, cross-sector collaboration, and long-term institutional integrity.

We are building toward:

• An annual Appalachian Psychedelic Conference
• Expanded interdisciplinary partnerships with universities and professionals
• Cross-cultural collaboration with Indigenous and South American partners
• Justice-informed conversations focused on keeping people out of jail and out of harm
• Sustainability-centered models that respect land, culture, and community
• Ongoing public education and dialogue through virtual and in-person gatherings

This work requires structure, stewardship, and shared commitment.

National and Global Organizations will not focus on Appalachia the WAY WE CAN.

If you believe Appalachia should help shape the future of psychedelics responsibly, ethically, and collaboratively, we invite you to join us.
